How to double the usage of Danish Railways?
For the Danske Stadsbaner (Danish Railways) we provided insight in the fundamental drivers for the growh in number of passengers in European countries. We also provided best practices from the Dutch situation. The result was more focus on the so far neglected ‘soft’ aspects, like retail, food & beverage in and near stations and the ambitious aim to double the usage of Danish railways in the near future.

From highway to Metropolis in Amsterdam
The A10 motorway was designed as highway surrounding Amsterdam. Now it has been encapsulated by the growing city. Using a historical and international perspective, we envisioned how the A10 can be reformed to fit its new urban function.

The Hague requests 15 freelanes for bikes
By increasing radius and comfort for bikers, traffic jams can be avoided. For the City Council of The Hague, we designed 15 commuting routes specifically for bikes, with good connections to public transport. We plotted the routes, designed the implementation type and addressed parking for bikes. This will result in an increase of the market share for bike transport from 30 to 35%.

Urban design and traffic
We combine urban design with solid solutions for traffic. Please have a look at our portfolio to get inspiring ideas for your town.

Urban Road-user Charging for EU
We were partners in CURACAO (Coordination of Urban RoAd ChArging Organisational issues) for the European Union. Research and specific cases were collected in Italy, Sweden, Norway and the United Kingdom on how to use pricing in traffic management. From The Netherlands e.g. we shared ‘SpitsScoren’ (see below).

SpitsScoren: rewarding instead of pricing to avoid traffic jams
We participate in a commercial venture to achieve a structural behavioural change in mobility on the highways surrounding Rotterdam during peak hours. Frequent car users during these hours are rewarded with cash for choosing alternative options.

StreamLine: the next generation in dynamic traffic management
Decision making in the field of dynamic traffic management is complex. We combined the practical insights of our consultants with scientific knowledge to bring a leading edge decision support system on the market. StreamLine makes predictions for the long term (2020) and short term (next hour) in high geographic detail to support e.g. strategic planning, road charging or the use of dynamic route information panels.
