Marisol Castro Arenas

public transport consultant

I enjoy connecting with people and ensuring that every project is built on genuine collaboration.

As a consultant and researcher with over 15 years of experience, I’ve contributed to transport projects across Chile, Argentina, the United States, and now the Netherlands. This international experience has given me a unique perspective, allowing me to approach projects from multiple angles.

My expertise lies in public transport and travel demand forecasting, with a focus on understanding passenger travel behaviour. These insights enable me to help design public transport systems that are not only efficient but also sustainable, high-performing and aligned with users’ needs. I believe that data-driven methods should guide every project, to inform decision-making and translate technical assessments into practical policy recommendations.

In addition to my consultancy work, I’ve lectured at both graduate and undergraduate levels, and have contributed to research with several publications in the field of transport. I’m also actively involved in professional and non-profit organisations, helping me stay up to date with the latest trends and bring fresh ideas to every project.

Above all, I value building strong, personal relationships with clients. By truly understanding their goals and needs, I aim to work together to deliver results that have lasting impact.
