Bart Bos and Thijs Broers visit Marrakech for bicycle workshop
Planning a good cycling network with the right infrastructure: quite a challenge in a (sometimes chaotic) city like Marrakech. Time for our colleagues Bart Bos and Thijs Broers to inspire the engineers of the municipality of Marrakech in a two-day workshop.
Bicycle-friendly Marrakech
Although hesitant at first, the municipality's engineers finished the workshop with lots of energy, inspiration and new ideas. The most important end result: four realistic bicycle-friendly designs that will make Marrakech an increasingly bicycle-friendly city.
Iganga Foundation
This workshop was organised by the Iganga Foundation in cooperation with Cantal Bakker of Pikala Bikes and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since its establishment in 2010, Iganga has been sharing knowledge in local projects to promote sustainable mobility in developing countries.
