Policy and behavioural research

Beleids- en gedragsonderzoek

Major societal challenges and transitions call for policy adjustments and new mobility solutions. These will only have an impact if people adjust their behaviour. Our Policy and Behavioural Research team measures, understands and clarifies the causal connection between interventions, behavioural change, and systemic effects. We combine qualitative and quantitative research methods and offer action perspectives for using policy to achieve the desired behavioural change and societal objectives. This approach is based on three pillars: ‘Monitoring and Evaluation’, ‘Behavioural Research’ and ‘Perception Studies’.

Diversity in background and methods

Our team of consultants represents a diverse scientific background and includes sociologists, traffic psychologists, traffic engineers, industrial designers, social geographers, and communication experts. This variety allows us to look at policy questions from different angles. Your question is central. The method chosen is ‘only’ the means towards finding the answer. On-site inspections, human factor analyses, focus groups, surveys, stated-choice experiments, VR/AR research, statistic modelling, big-data analysis; these are all examples of methods we apply in our work.

Quality assurance

We conduct objective research. Our reports are clear, easy to read and delivered fast so you can make the right (policy) decisions. Our ISO 20252 market research certification underlines our focus on delivering high-quality and reliable services. We also have a wealth of knowledge to refer back to in the fields of mobility and spatial planning, which we use to provide extra context for our research findings and put these into perspective.

Sharing knowledge internationally

We are proud of our partnerships with national and international institutions. As such, we build a bridge between science and everyday practice for our clients. One that goes beyond the borders of the Netherlands. We know our way around international knowledge networks and like to be inspired by mobility insights from elsewhere.
