Ideally, the choice of a traffic model variant, for example for a new residential area to be built, should no longer be based solely on accessibility. A broader consideration framework, which also takes into account the effects of traffic on the environment, is not only desirable but also necessary. This is why we developed OmniTRANS Emissions. This allows you to compare traffic model variants on both accessibility and emissions.
OmniTRANS Emissions
OmniTRANS Emissions is an analysis tool that allows municipalities and provinces to actively contribute to climate and/or air quality objectives. OmniTRANS Emissions provides insight into emissions of carbon dioxide (CO₂), particulate matter (PM10) and nitrogen (NOx) from motorized traffic, using the results of a traffic model. This provides you with guidance on achieving your emissions targets.
The advantages of OmniTRANS Emissions
- OmniTRANS Emissions provides insight into both particulate matter and nitrogen emissions from motorized traffic at road section level. In case of excessive emissions, this high level of detail enables you to see where the problem lies and take targeted action.
- OmniTRANS Emissions provides insight into the total CO₂ emissions at area level, so that traffic model variants can be compared in the context of achieving climate objectives.
- OmniTRANS Emissions is a module within our traffic modeling software OmniTRANS Expert. It is also possible to analyze scenarios developed in software from other vendors by importing them into OmniTRANS.
- Our OmniTRANS traffic modeling software allows us to visualize emissions in addition to intensities, for an even better understanding of emissions at the network level.
- The emission parameters are updated annually and therefore take into account developments such as, for example, an increase in the number of electric vehicles on the road.
